During the summer of 2022, we spent 3 wonderful weeks exploring Italy as a family. One of the highlights of our trip was our time with Cecilia in Venice. I have always thought of Venice as surreal. It is magical and beautiful even as it slowly sinks and dips into the sea. Venture outside of the Rialto Bridge area, St. Mark's Square, and other touristy spots to see the real Venice. There is a lot to explore in the majestic City of Canals. The best way to soak up Venice is to hire a great local tour guide like Cecilia.
We spent a few hours getting to know Cecilia and learning about daily life in the floating city and the wonderful food to enjoy there. Cecilia told us of her family's history in Venice including the fact that her father used to swim in the canals as a young boy! She quickly added that doing so today is not allowed or a good idea. Cecilia took us through the historic Rialto fish and produce market situated near the infamous Rialto Bridge. The market was bustling with tourists and locals alike buying their groceries for the day.
She also took us to a wonderful pastry shop where we had the best pastries we found anywhere in Venice! In fact, we returned the following morning for more pastries and found Cecilia there!
Cecilia also made great recommendations about where to go to get the best gelato in Venice, Gelateria Nico, which was established in 1937! It was so rich, flavorful, and definitely worth the walk!
Our tour included other stops for food including a stop for Cicchetti, which are small snacks or side dishes, and some wine.
Cecilia is ready to welcome visitors to Venice! We thoroughly enjoyed exploring Venice with her and I know you will too! Taste Venice offer tours away from the crowds for a more local experience.

"I think that wine is a pleasure and I love sharing this passion that I have in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere – and is there a more beautiful location than Venice to do this?" - Cecilia, tastevenice.it

The following is a quote taken from TasteVenice.it . ... Nothing is better than experiencing a location as a local would away from the hustle and bustle of the typical tourist sites.
